Basketball Game Preview: Hidalgo Pirates vs. Veterans Memorial Chargers

Hidalgo is 0-4 against Veterans Memorial since December of 2016 but things could change on Monday. The Hidalgo Pirates will host the Veterans Memorial Chargers at 8:00 p.m. Veterans Memorial took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Hidalgo, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Hidalgo turned things around against Macedonian Christian on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 60-45 victory over Macedonian Christian.

Meanwhile, Veterans Memorial was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 49-40 to La Feria.

Veterans Memorial's defeat dropped their record down to 9-15. As for Hidalgo, their win bumped their record up to 17-7.

Hidalgo took a serious blow against Veterans Memorial in their previous meeting back in December of 2021, falling 64-29. Can Hidalgo avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
