Baseball Game Preview: Archbishop Carroll Patriots vs. Upper Darby Royals

The Archbishop Carroll Patriots will take on the Upper Darby Royals at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Archbishop Carroll and four for Upper Darby.

Archbishop Carroll fell victim to La Salle College and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They came up short against the Explorers, falling 10-0. That's two games in a row now that the Patriots have lost by exactly ten runs.

Archbishop Carroll got a good showing from Mark Fohner, who tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. That's the fewest hits Fohner has allowed since back in April of 2024.

Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Upper Darby's offense. They lost 20-0 to Haverford on Wednesday.

Upper Darby's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Archbishop Carroll, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.
