Volleyball Recap: Bandera Falls Despite Big Games from Taytum Moeller and Sydney Moore + How To Watch

Bandera was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Blanco Panthers. The BULLDOGS were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Bandera started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-9, 25-13, 25-16.

Bandera's loss came despite strong showings from Sydney Moore and Taytum Moeller. Moore had 13 digs and ten kills, while Moeller had 23 digs and one assist. Moore has been hot for a while, having posted five or more kills the last 28 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Hannah Wells, who had 18 digs.

Blanco was led to victory by Kamryn Gaskamp and Carleigh Dotson. Gaskamp had six digs and two aces, while Dotson had 12 kills, eight digs, and four aces. That's the most digs Gaskamp has posted over her last six matchups.

Bandera's loss dropped their record down to 13-18. As for Blanco, their win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-19.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bandera will challenge TMI-Episcopal at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Blanco, they will square off against Johnson City at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
