Softball Game Preview: Durand Bulldogs vs. Dakota Indians

The Durand Bulldogs will venture away from home to face off against the Dakota Indians at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Durand's pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so Dakota's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Durand managed to slip by Milledgeville the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Bulldogs lost 10-0 to the Missiles on Monday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Meanwhile, Dakota entered their tilt with South Beloit on Monday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They put the hurt on the Sobos with a sharp 11-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Indians, who have now won 11 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Dakota pushed their record up to 13-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Durand, their loss dropped their record down to 9-8.

Durand couldn't quite finish off Dakota when the teams last played back in April of 2024 and fell 5-3. Can the Bulldogs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
