The Platt Panthers will square off against the RHAM Raptors at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. Platt is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.1 runs per game this season.

Platt lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Newington, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Wednesday's matchup. The Panthers blew past the Nor easters 13-3 on Wednesday. The Panthers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Gio DeMatteo made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Tyler Cioffi, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. What's more, he posted two hits, the most he's had since back in June of 2025. Another player making a difference was Kenneth Marrow, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and two RBI.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for RHAM, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. They skirted past South Windsor 9-8.

Platt pushed their record up to 7-2-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for RHAM, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Platt came up short against RHAM in their previous meeting back in May of 2023, falling 8-4. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
