The Warren Central Vikings will take on the Hillcrest Patriots at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Warren Central is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.

Warren Central had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt Petal on Friday. The Vikings were the clear victors by a 9-2 margin over the Panthers.

Caden Cole made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single hit in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two RBI.

In other batting news, Justin Evans was excellent, going 1-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. That triple was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Tristan Jamison, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

Meanwhile, Hillcrest didn't have quite enough to beat Brandon on Friday and fell 4-3. The loss continues a trend for the Patriots in their meetings with the Bulldogs: they've now lost four in a row.

Hillcrest's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Warren Central, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.
