Softball Recap: Washburn Millers vs. DeLaSalle Islanders
After flying high against Fridley on Friday, Washburn came back down to earth. The Millers fell just short of the DeLaSalle Islanders by a score of 15-14 on Monday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (ten), the Millers still had to take the loss.
Frankie Bretl and Emalyn Streifel did some serious damage despite the final result: Bretl went 2-for-4 with three runs and two RBI, while Streifel went 1-for-5 with four runs and three RBI. Addy Ulfers was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
Washburn now has a losing record of 1-2. As for DeLaSalle, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2-1.
Washburn didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 8-2 victory against Roosevelt on the 16th. DeLaSalle has also already played their next matchup (against Kennedy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
