KIPP Houston lost against KIPP Sunnyside back in November of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The KIPP Houston Kerberos received a blow as they fell 56-37 to KIPP Sunnyside. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (35), the Kerberos still had to take the loss.

Jayden Johnson and David Leonard certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Johnson threw for 412 yards and six touchdowns while completing 76.3% of his passes, while Leonard picked up 197 receiving yards and four touchdowns. With that strong performance, Johnson is now averaging an impressive 3.2 passing touchdowns per game. Mos'Uud Oderinde did his part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 100 receiving yards.

Leading KIPP Sunnyside to victory were Rodney Wilson Jr and Jermaine Jackson III. Wilson Jr gained 162 total yards and two touchdowns, while Jackson III rushed for 102 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries. Wilson Jr has been hot , having also posted two or more receiving touchdowns the last five times he's played.

KIPP Houston dropped their record down to 2-4 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for KIPP Sunnyside, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-2.
