Baseball Recap: Hutto Takes a Loss

Hutto came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the McNeil Mavericks, falling 12-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Hippos of the 7-6 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2021.

Hutto saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jadyn Littles, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases.

Hutto has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last ten matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-19 record this season. As for McNeil, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-9-2.

While Hutto had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
