Softball Recap: United Longhorns vs. Holmes Huskies
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact United can now relate to. They fell 4-1 to the Holmes Huskies on Friday. United has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Kaylee Cox spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't pitched less than six innings in nine consecutive pitching appearances.
United's defeat dropped their record down to 18-13. As for Holmes, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-11-1 record this season.
As of now, neither United nor Holmes have any future games scheduled.
