It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Laurel had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They strolled past the Whitman Vikings with points to spare, taking the game 68-53. The win was familiar territory for the Spartans, who have now won five contests in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Laurel to victory, but perhaps none more so than Amadou Kaloga, who went 11-for-15 en route to 23 points. Kaloga continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Christian Brown, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 13 boards.
Laurel's victory bumped their record up to 24-4. As for Whitman, they moved to 22-5 with that defeat, which also ended their ten-game winning streak.
As of now, neither Laurel nor Whitman have any future games scheduled.
