Baseball Recap: Wayne Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Wayne can now relate to. They came up short against the Bryce Valley Mustangs on Tuesday, falling 10-3. The loss continues a trend for the Badgers in their meetings with the Mustangs: they've now lost seven in a row.

Wayne saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Blake Peterson, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI. Peterson is becoming a predictor of the Badgers' success: when he posts at least three hits the team is 2-1 (and 5-14 when he doesn't). Miles Hinkle also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Wayne's defeat dropped their record down to 7-15. As for Bryce Valley, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 20-6.

As of now, neither Wayne nor the Mustangs have any future games scheduled.
