Preview: Castlewood Warriors vs. Deubrook Dolphins
Castlewood is 8-2 against Deubrook since January of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Castlewood Warriors will be playing at home against the Deubrook Dolphins at 6:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Tuesday, Castlewood ended up a good deal behind Florence/Henry and lost 45-26. Castlewood has not had much luck with Florence/Henry recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Castlewood used a three-pronged attack on offense:
Kylie Wittnebel,
Presley Knecht, and
Gracie Haug posted five points each. Wittnebel also led the team in rebounds with four.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Deubrook, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 55-41 loss to Arlington on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Deubrook can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 95th, while Arlington is ranked 12th).
Castlewood's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-10. As for Deubrook, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season.
Castlewood beat Deubrook 53-44 when the teams last played back in December of 2022. Does Castlewood have another victory up their sleeve, or will Deubrook turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
