While Lumberton's win against Jack Britt wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Lumberton Pirates had just enough and edged out the Jack Britt Buccaneers 7-6 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Pirates have posted against the Buccaneers since April 12, 2021.

The team relied heavily on Jaelyn Hammond, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-4. Kinsley Martin also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Lumberton moved to 2-3 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Jack Britt, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lumberton will face off against South View at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. South View will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Lumberton surely won't give up without a fight. As for Jack Britt, they will square off against Purnell Swett at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
