Basketball Game Preview: Santa Fe Raiders vs. Crystal River Pirates

The Santa Fe Raiders will square off against the Crystal River Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Santa Fe will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Last Friday, Santa Fe earned a 43-33 win over Dunnellon. Given the Raiders' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 191st, while the Tigers are ranked 453rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Crystal River ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. In a tight game that could have gone either way, they made off with a 54-53 victory over Lake Weir. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Pirates.

Santa Fe has also been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.4 points per game. As for Crystal River, their win bumped their record up to 15-9.

Things could have been worse for Santa Fe, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 57-43 loss to Crystal River in their previous matchup back in December of 2017.
