Basketball Recap: Lourdes Central Catholic Comes Up Short

After soaring to 55 points the game before, Lourdes Central Catholic was a bit more limited in their game on Tuesday. They were dealt an 80-28 defeat at the hands of the Johnson-Brock Eagles. The Knights have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Brady Schnitzer was Lourdes Central Catholic's leading scorer, having posted eight points. Gabriel Baxa held things down on the boards with three rebounds. Blue Oggs took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.

Leading Johnson-Brock to victory were Brody Koehler and Austin Meyer. Koehler went 8 for 12 on his way to 20 points and six rebounds, while Meyer went 6 of 8 on his way to 12 points in addition to seven rebounds and three blocks. With that strong performance, Koehler is now averaging an impressive 15.2 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Grady Behrends, who made all 5 shots he took to post 12 points.

Lourdes Central Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Johnson-Brock, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.

Lourdes Central Catholic wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 53-34 win against Falls City on the 10th. As for Johnson-Brock, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 49-39 victory against Pawnee City on the 9th.
