Lake Orion took a three-set defeat the last time they faced off against Bloomfield Hills, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Dragons came out on top in a nail-biter against the Black Hawks on Saturday, sneaking past 2-1. The game was the first time the Dragons have beaten the Black Hawks on their court since October 18, 2023.

Izzy Lawhorn paced Lake Orion's offense, picking up 12 kills. Lawhorn got some help from Caitrin O'Rourke and her ten assists. Lawhorn also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Mckenzie Reid, each putting up two.

When it comes to explaining why Bloomfield Hills lost, don't look at Alyssa Moir. Despite the final result, she had 11 digs and three assists.

Lake Orion's win bumped their record up to 17-22-1. As for Bloomfield Hills, their loss dropped their record down to 31-4.

Lake Orion has already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against South Lyon on the 11th. As for Bloomfield Hills, they will be playing at home against Troy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
