Basketball Game Preview: Covenant Academy vs. John Hancock Academy Rebels

Covenant Academy will take on the John Hancock Academy Rebels at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses for Covenant Academy and 11 for John Hancock Academy dating back to last season.

Covenant Academy lost 67-41 to Windsor Academy back in December of 2024.

Covenant Academy might have lost, but man, Ryan Stevens was a machine: he went 9 of 16 on his way to 24 points along with eight boards and four steals. Stevens' evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

Meanwhile, 2025 welcomed John Hancock Academy with a 55-34 loss courtesy of St. George's on Thursday.

John Hancock Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Covenant Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7.

Covenant Academy didn't have too much breathing room in their match against John Hancock Academy in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, but they still walked away with a 68-63 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Covenant Academy since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
