Baseball Recap: Hershey Snags Sixth Victory in Last Eight Games

Hershey proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by 13) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Elizabethtown Bears, sneaking past 2-1. That's more bragging rights for the Trojans, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Hershey saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sean Callahan, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Hershey is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Elizabethtown, they dropped their record down to 8-7 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hershey will host Gettysburg at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. The last three games the Warriors have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Elizabethtown, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lampeter-Strasburg at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Bears 3.9, the Pioneers 3.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
