Volleyball Recap: Mojave Takes a Loss

If Mojave was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Owens Valley last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Mustangs fell just short of the Lone Pine Golden Eagles by a score of 3-2 on Monday. While the Mustangs didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Golden Eagles 25-19 in the first set.

Mojave started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 19-25, 26-28, 26-24, 25-16, 15-13.

Mojave has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-12-1 record this season. As for Lone Pine, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 13-11-2.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Mojave is set to face off against their familiar foe Immanuel Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Lone Pine will take on rival Trona at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
