Baseball Recap: University Lab Comes Up Short

University Lab lost against Zachary back in February of 2015, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The University Lab Cubs fell 7-3 to the Zachary Broncos.

University Lab got a good showing from Grant Sunstrom, who tossed four innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits. The dominant performance also gave Sunstrom a new career-low in walks (one).

At the plate, Shepard Gammon made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in hits. Jaris Hamilton was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

University Lab's defeat dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Zachary, they now have a winning record of 11-10-1.

Looking ahead, University Lab will welcome St. Michael at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Zachary, they will head out on the road to square off against Parkview Baptist at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
