Shawnee's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They walked away with a 7-4 victory over the Northwestern Warriors. The Braves haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Blake Bowen made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over 5.2 innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. Bowen was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Caden Wallace, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. He also put up an RBI, which was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Joey Ross, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Shawnee picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 3-6. As for Northwestern, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Shawnee will face off against Kenton Ridge at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Northwestern, they will challenge Graham Local at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Falcons' pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so the Warriors' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
