Baseball Recap: Zionsville Finds Home Field Redemption Against Brownsburg

Zionsville's found some homefield redemption this week after a overtime loss to Brownsburg on Thursday. The Eagles never let the Bulldogs get on the board and left with a 5-0 victory. This was a revenge game for the Eagles: when they faced off against the Bulldogs on Thursday, they had to take a 8-7 defeat.

Brady Shaw tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over five innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Zionsville is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-5 otherwise.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Brayden Ring, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Riley Agbonhese also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Zionsville has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Brownsburg, their loss dropped their record down to 7-3.

Looking ahead, Zionsville will square off against McCutcheon at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Brownsburg, they will challenge Avon at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
