Basketball Game Preview: Atlantic Sharks vs. Mainland Buccaneers

Atlantic hasn't had much luck against Mainland recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Sharks will head out to challenge the Buccaneers at 7:00 p.m. Atlantic has given up an average of 56.5 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Atlantic picked up another tournament win on Tuesday. They took down New Smyrna Beach 78-61. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Sharks.

Meanwhile, Mainland was able to grind out a solid win over Seminole on Wednesday, taking the game 71-61. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Buccaneers' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked eighth, while the Seminoles are ranked 306th).

Atlantic's record is now 17-7. As for Mainland, their record now sits at 20-2.

Atlantic came up short against Mainland in their previous meeting back in January of 2025, falling 61-56. Can the Sharks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
