Baseball Recap: Jamar Seidel's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Peoria over Danville

Peoria extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 24 on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 0-12 in the process. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 16-2 to the Danville Vikings, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-2 on Wednesday.

Peoria saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jamar Seidel, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double. That double was Seidel's first of the season.

As for Danville, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-12. That's two games straight that they have won by exactly 14 runs.

On Danville's side, Tate McLoughlin looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits.

On the hitting side, Jake Garrison was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with five stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Alex McQuown was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Coming up, Peoria will be playing at home against Champaign Central at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Lions are facing the Maroons at the right time seeing as the Maroons are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Danville, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 16-0 defeat against Westville on the 22nd.
