Baseball Recap: Fall River Comes Up Short

Fall River had lost three straight on the road, but on Monday they dropped down to 1-10 to make it four. They came up short against the Green Lake/Princeton Tigersharks, falling 12-0. The Pirates were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigersharks apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2025.

As for Green Lake/Princeton, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games.

For Green Lake/Princeton's part, Drake Westfield made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Westfield has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2025.

In other batting news, Carson West and Jamison Luepke did most of the damage at the plate: West got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI, while Luepke went 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Green Lake/Princeton is undefeated when Luepke posts two or more runs, but 4-7 otherwise.

While Fall River had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
