Soccer Game Preview: Austin Catholic vs. Academy of the Sacred Heart

The Austin Catholic Crusaders will take on the Academy of the Sacred Heart Gazelles at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Austin Catholic is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.

Last Thursday, Austin Catholic came up short against St. Catherine of Siena Academy and fell 4-2. While losing is never fun, Austin Catholic can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan soccer rankings (they are ranked 370th, while St. Catherine of Siena Academy are ranked 109th).

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last contest, Academy of the Sacred Heart made sure to put some goals up on the board against Cardinal Mooney Catholic on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Cardinals with a sharp 8-1 victory.

Academy of the Sacred Heart's win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-7-1. As for Austin Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5-1.

Austin Catholic might still be hurting after the 5-0 loss they got from Academy of the Sacred Heart in their previous meeting back in April of 2024.
