Point Loma has won five straight games at home, while Legacy has won five straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Saturday. Savannah Medina spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on eight hits.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Brianna Gonzalez, who went 1-for-2 with one home run.
Legacy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 18 of their last 20 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Point Loma, their win bumped their record up to 27-6-1.
Saturday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Point Loma hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .317. However, it's not like Legacy struggles in that department as they've averaged .361. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
