The Fort Lee Bridgemen will take on the New Milford Knights in a tournament on Saturday. Fort Lee is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8 runs per game this season.
Fort Lee's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They came out on top against Ridgefield Memorial by a score of 3-0. The win was nothing new for the Bridgemen as they're now sitting on three straight.

Gabriel Garcia tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 12 over 6.2 innings pitched. Those 12 strikeouts gave him a new career-high.
On the hitting side, Jack Dorkhom was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Luke Senatore also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.
Meanwhile, the third road game was the charm for New Milford, as they earned their first away victory of the season. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Cliffside Park 5-3. The victory continues a trend for the Knights in their matchups with the Raiders: they've now won three in a row.
New Milford let Liam Block and Luis Placido run wild. Block went 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI, while Placido went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run. Glen Murata was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double.
Fort Lee's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-3. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for New Milford, they picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 5-3.
New Milford's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Fort Lee has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .452. It's a different story for New Milford, though, as they've only averaged .349. Will they be able to contain Fort Lee's hitters?
Fort Lee came out on top in a nail-biter against New Milford in their previous meeting back in May of 2023, sneaking past 7-6. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bridgemen since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
