Basketball Recap: R-S Central's Luck Changes for the Better on Friday

R-S Central needed a changed in momentum after dropping eight straight games and they got it from Lai Flack. The R-S Central Hilltoppers walked away with a 38-30 win over the Mountain View Prep Stars on Friday thanks in part to Flack, who posted 21 points. That makes it five consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of R-S Central's points.

Another player making a difference was Liliana Lopez, who had six points. That's the most points she has posted since back in November of 2023.

Mountain View Prep lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Trinity Owens, who put up four points in addition to eight boards and three blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Caldwell, who posted seven points along with nine steals and five boards.

R-S Central's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-7. As for Mountain View Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-8.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Father Ryan the next time they take the court. Mountain View Prep will head out to face Father Ryan at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, while R-S Central will play them later in the day, at 3:00 p.m.
