Basketball Recap: Nixon-Smiley Comes Up Short

Nixon-Smiley lost to Goliad on January 13th and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Mustangs received a blow as they fell 37-19 to the Tigers. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Alize Davila was Nixon-Smiley's leading scorer, having posted six points. Grace Gomez held things down on the boards with ten rebounds. She took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with three assists.

Nixon-Smiley's defeat dropped their record down to 5-24. As for Goliad, they now have a winning record of 15-14.

Looking ahead, Nixon-Smiley will take on Stockdale at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Goliad, they will square off against Poth at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Pirates will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight.
