Rantoul skates past Bloomington with ease

The Rantoul Eagles had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They breezed by Bloomington on the road to the tune of 70-37 on Saturday. That 33 point margin sets a new team best for Rantoul this season.

Despite the defeat, Bloomington had strong showings from Evan Reed, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds, and Rob Clark, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and two steals. It was the first time this season that Reed pulled down eight or more rebounds.

Rantoul's victory bumped their record up to 6-18. As for Bloomington, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-25.

Rantoul will head out on the road to square off against Bloomington Central Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bloomington, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Normal West at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Bloomington is coming into the contest with seven straight defeats at home, meaning Normal West will have to defend against a team hungry for a victory.
