Softball Recap: Arp Now 8-1 over Last Nine Games

Arp had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Tatum on Friday. Everything went the Arp Tigers' way against the Tatum Eagles as the Arp Tigers made off with a 16-6 win. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won 11 contests by nine runs or more so far this season.

Lacy Fletcher made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off five hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most runs she has posted over her last 15 matchups.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Neci Potts, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Kaitlynn Raymond was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Arp is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season. Tatum has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.

Arp will welcome White Oak at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. White Oak will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Arp surely won't give up without a fight. As for Tatum, they will head out to square off against Gladewater at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Gladewater has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed nine runs per game on average), something Tatum will no doubt try to take advantage of.
