Basketball Game Preview: Church Point Bears vs. Bunkie Panthers

The Church Point Bears will head out to challenge the Bunkie Panthers on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Tuesday, Church Point humbled Merryville with a 69-30 victory. The contest marked the Bears' most dominant win of the season.

Meanwhile, Bunkie posted their closest victory since November 26, 2024 on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Beau Chene 57-55. The Panthers pushed the score to 44-24 by the end of the third, a deficit the Gators cut but never quite recovered from.

The victory got Bunkie back to even at 9-9. As for Church Point, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season.

Church Point beat Bunkie 45-38 when the teams last played back in November of 2022. The rematch might be a little tougher for Church Point since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
