Basketball Game Preview: Bessemer Academy Rebels vs. Edgewood Academy Wildcats

Meanwhile, Edgewood Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They received a blow as they fell 62-43 to Restoration Academy. While the Wildcats didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating Restoration Academy 17-13 in the first quarter.

Bessemer Academy will need focus on slowing down Avery White, one of several Edgewood Academy players who made an impact when they last played. She dropped a double-double on 12 points and 18 rebounds. The dominant performance gave White a new career-high in boards. Another player making a difference was Aubrey Newton, who posted 13 points.

Bessemer Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Edgewood Academy, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 13-9.
