Baseball Game Preview: South Rebels vs. Gilmour Academy Lancers

The South Rebels will venture away from home to challenge the Gilmour Academy Lancers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Thursday, South was able to grind out a solid victory over Independence, taking the game 4-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rebels.

Meanwhile, Gilmour Academy strolled into their game on Wednesday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They put the hurt on Berea-Midpark with a sharp 14-2 win. The contest marked the Lancers' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Gilmour Academy pushed their record up to 7-0 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.4 runs over those games. As for South, their win bumped their record up to 3-6.

South beat Gilmour Academy 4-1 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Do the Rebels have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Lancers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
