Basketball Recap: Royal Palm Beach Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Palm Beach Central came into Friday's game looking for another win against Royal Palm Beach, but K'Nard Callendar wouldn't allow it. The Royal Palm Beach Wildcats strolled past the Palm Beach Central Broncos with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 49-31 thanks in part to Callendar, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 14 rebounds. Callendar is also crushing it when it comes to blocks: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season.

Bennie Murvin was another key player, putting up seven points and nine boards. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in rebounds.

Despite the defeat, Palm Beach Central had strong showings from Roobens Jabouin, who went 5 of 11 en route to 10 points in addition to five boards and four blocks, and Xavian Charles, who went 5 for 12 on his way to 12 points.

The victory (which was Royal Palm Beach's third in a row) raised their record to 11-8. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.0 points per game. As for Palm Beach Central, they moved to 16-5 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Royal Palm Beach wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 69-39 win against Donna Klein Jewish Academy on the 28th. As for Palm Beach Central, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 47-39 victory against Vero Beach on the 27th.
