Softball Recap: Marathon Beats Wausau East for Their Third Straight Win

While Marathon didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They put the hurt on the Wausau East Lumberjacks with a sharp 8-1 victory on Thursday. Winning may never get old, but the Red Raiders sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Brinly Stencil was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. That home run was her first of the season. Rehgan Martin was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Marathon kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Marathon's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Wausau East, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Marathon will head out to face off against Prentice at 4:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Wausau East, they will venture away from home to challenge Antigo at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
