Football Recap: Edison Golden Bears vs. Highlands Owls
Edison extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to eight on Friday, dropping them down to 0-5. They had to suffer through a 65-6 loss at the hands of the Highlands Owls. The Golden Bears were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-6.
Highlands' first win this season bumped their record up to 1-4. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Highlands found their leader in sophomore Devante Riley, who rushed for 81 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only seven carries, and also picked up 36 receiving yards and one TD. Jovan Flemings was another key player, rushing for 74 yards and one score.
