Baseball Recap: Hargrave Snags Ninth Victory in Last 11 Games

Hargrave barely beat Hamshire-Fannett the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Falcons blew past the Longhorns 11-1 on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won nine matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

John Dolan was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other pitching news, Jesse Reyes looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Avry Cordell, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Bryce Nixon was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Hargrave is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-8-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.9 runs over those games. As for Hamshire-Fannett, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-16 record this season.

Hargrave will have a chance to go back-to-back against Hamshire-Fannett: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
