With a playoff win on the line, Notre Dame-Green Pond rose to the challenge on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Palmerton Blue Bombers as they made off with a 13-3 win. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since May 13, 2022, but that streak is no more.

Michael Martino spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on four hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, Notre Dame-Green Pond let Paul Smith and Austin Casal run wild. Smith went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run, while Casal went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI Smith has posted since back in March. Christian Rivituso was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Notre Dame-Green Pond was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .438. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Palmerton only posted a batting average of .238.

Notre Dame-Green Pond's victory bumped their record up to 14-9. As for Palmerton, their defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-8.

As of now, neither Notre Dame-Green Pond nor the Blue Bombers have any future games scheduled.
