Softball Game Preview: High Point Wildcats vs. Hackettstown Tigers

The High Point Wildcats will venture away from home to square off against the Hackettstown Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The last three games High Point has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

High Point is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to ten runs on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Vernon on Thursday. They fell just short of the Vikings by a score of 3-2. The loss put an end to the Wildcats' undefeated start to the season.

Meanwhile, Hackettstown scored the most runs they've had this season on Thursday, but it wasn't enough. They came up short against Lenape Valley, falling 15-5. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Patriots recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Having lost for the first time this season, High Point fell to 2-1. As for Hackettstown, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.

High Point skirted past Hackettstown 9-7 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
