Recap: Randolph-Clay Red Devils vs. Chattahoochee County Panthers
The Randolph-Clay Red Devils have been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were beaten by Chattahoochee County 59-31 on Saturday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Randolph-Clay of the 49-41 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2023.
Randolph-Clay lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Zyiah Johnson, who scored eight points.
Chattahoochee County was led to victory by Makyiah Clark and Jessika Carter. Clark scored 17 points, while Carter scored 17 points. Ke'Asia Hardwick was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Randolph-Clay's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-8. As for Chattahoochee County, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 16-6.
Randolph-Clay will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Mitchell County at 6:00 p.m. As for Chattahoochee County, they will head out on the road to challenge Hawkinsville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hawkinsville is on a five-game streak of home wins, Chattahoochee County a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
