Football Recap: Roosevelt Roughriders vs. Windsor Wizards
If Roosevelt was feeling good fresh off their 48-0 takedown of Rifle last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Roughriders fell 26-14 to the Windsor Wizards on Friday. The Roughriders haven't had much luck with the Wizards recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
Although Roosevelt took the loss, they still got scores from Houston Howell and Jacobo Rosales.
Most of the squad's points came courtesy of special teams, who contributed eight in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Howell, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.
Adrian Czyszczon was his usual excellent self, rushing for 119 yards and one touchdown for Windsor.
Roosevelt's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Windsor, the win keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.
Roosevelt and Windsor will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matchups. The next time the Roughriders see the field they'll take on Pomona at 7:00 p.m. on October 10. As for Windsor, their break will end when they face Niwot at 7:00 p.m. on October 10.
