Football Recap: Pinnacle Falls Short of Williams Field in the Playoffs + How To Watch

Pinnacle and Williams Field squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Pinnacle had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Black Hawks by a score of 39-36. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Pioneers have suffered since October 11, 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Pinnacle lost, don't look at Jackson Reader. Despite the final result, he rushed for 83 yards on only eight carries. Reader got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 52 yards. Deuce Postell got in on the action too, returning a kick for a touchdown.

Williams Field got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Dominick Barjona out in front who threw for 234 yards and three TDs while completing 84% of his passes. Barjona's passing game has become a key predictor of the Black Hawks' success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 110 or higher, but only 2-3 otherwise. Courshawn Hill helped Barjona out on the ground, rushing for 98 yards and one touchdown.

Pinnacle's loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Williams Field, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.
