Spring Hill had lost three straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped down to 8-18 to make it four. They fell just short of the Centennial Cougars by a score of 8-7. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-6 back in March.
Will Bailey made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.
As for Centennial, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-12. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.33 runs across that stretch.
On Centennial's side, Luke Dennis was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Dennis was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2025.
In other pitching news, Drew McAllister looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2025.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Becker Ludwig, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI. Mitchell Grandjean was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs.
Looking ahead, Spring Hill will face off against Creek Wood at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Centennial, they will take on Franklin at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
