Football Game Preview: Montgomery Central Timberwolves vs. Carson Cougars + Official Tickets

Two dominant s in Jamison Leake and Jamarion Brown are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Montgomery Central Timberwolves will face off against the Carson Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Montgomery Central's offense hasn't had much luck over their past three contests, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Montgomery Central is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Central Davidson on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Timberwolves came up short against the Spartans, falling 27-7. While losing is never fun, the Timberwolves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 249th, while the Spartans are ranked 106th).

Meanwhile, Carson never let their opponents score on Friday. They blew past South Rowan, posting a 35-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won four games by 21 points or more so far this season.

Montgomery Central better keep an eye on Rosean Perkins. He was instrumental in Carson's win, rushing for 140 yards and three TDs on only 12 carries, while also picking up 80 receiving yards and one score. Those three rushing touchdowns gave Perkins a new career-high. Griffin Barber was another key player, rushing for 58 yards and one touchdown on only seven carries.

Carson was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 255 rushing yards. They are 5-1 when they've run for more than 200 yards.

Carson didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Cruise Montieth. Jase Overcash was another major factor on D, picking up a sack, making six total tackles (2.0 for loss), and defending one pass.

Montgomery Central's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Carson, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.
