Recap: Schaumburg Christian Conquerors vs. Harvest Christian Academy Lions
The Schaumburg Christian Conquerors lost against the Harvest Christian Academy Lions back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Schaumburg Christian fell 56-49 to Harvest Christian Academy.
Several Conquerors players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Carynton Hobson, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds and five steals. Hobson hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games. Another player making a difference was Candela Garcia, who scored 19 points along with nine rebounds.
Harvest Christian Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Daphne Brown led the charge by scoring 22 points along with seven assists and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa Burke, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 13 rebounds.
Schaumburg Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Harvest Christian Academy, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-10.
Schaumburg Christian will stay at home for another game and welcome Christian Life at 2:30 p.m. on January 27th. Harvest Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Academy at 5:30 p.m. on January 26th. Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Academy is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
