After a string of seven wins, Vail Christian's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Denver Christian Thunder. The Saints were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Thunder apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

While Vail Christian ultimately came up short, they really made Denver Christian work, particularly in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 27-25, 21-25, 25-23.

Michelle Teague paced Vail Christian's offense, picking up 16 kills. Teague got some help from Tenley Brasington and her 29 assists. Betty Bartok controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Among those leading the charge was Hadley Pellegrino, who had 20 assists and six digs. She has been hot recently, having posted 12 or more assists the last four times she's played.

Vail Christian suffered their first home defeat, dropping their record down to 13-3. As for Denver Christian, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-4.

Vail Christian has already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against De Beque on the 7th. As for Denver Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against St. Mary's Academy on the 7th.
