Baseball Game Preview: Elverado Falcons vs. Norris City-Omaha-Enfield Fighting Cardinals

The Elverado Falcons will square off against the Norris City-Omaha-Enfield Fighting Cardinals at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Elverado is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.

Elverado fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Agape Christian on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Knights by a score of 13-12. Even if the Falcons couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Elverado saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Trevor Brooks, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles.

Meanwhile, Norris City-Omaha-Enfield fell victim to Gallatin County and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They lost 15-0 to the Hawks. The Fighting Cardinals haven't had much luck with the Hawks recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Norris City-Omaha-Enfield's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Elverado, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 2-11.
